Chocolate Roll Cake with Cute Little Hearts and Polka Dots

This Chocolate Roll Cake was prepared by my SIL who is an excellent cook, baker and she loves to try new dishes. She is an expert in making fish biryani, which I am a big fan of. My niece and nephew likes chocolate a lot. Chocolate in any form they will gobble up in no time. So for them she always prepares chocolate cake in different varieties and this is one such cake.

As she sent me the pics, I loved them at the first sight and here it is, in my blog…
The process of making this cake looks too tiring but once you start making, it will be easy. I liked the part where we make hearts and polka dots. They look very cute on the cake. She saw the recipe in some website and tried it  and the end result is what you are seeing.
Along with this roll cake she also made some cake pops which she used for decoration. Hope you all will try making this out and enjoy an amazingly beautiful cake….

The decoration batter for the red hearts and pink dots on the cake:
  1. Butter- 7 tbsp
  2. Sugar- ¾ Cup
  3. Egg whites- 3 nos
  4. Flour- 1 Cup
  1. Blend the butter and sugar till it forms a creamy texture.Add the egg whites and  flour slowly and mix well to make the batter.
  2. Now divide the batter into two bowls.
  3. Add red and pink color in each bowl.Pour them in two piping bags.
  4. Now take a baking tray and lay a parchment paper. Make the designs of red hearts and pink dots using the decoration batter.
  5. Keep the tray in the freezer for 10 minutes.

The batter for  roll cake batter
Chocolate Cake sheet:
  1. Eggs separated- 4 nos
  2. Sugar- ½ Cup (1/4th cup+1/4th cup)
  3. Cream of Tartar- 1 tsp (this helps the egg whites stay fluffy)
  4. Butter- 4 tbsps
  5. Cocoa Powder- ¼ Cup
  6. Flour- ½ Cup
  1. Take two bowls. Break the eggs with egg whites in one bowl and yolks in the other.
  2. Add 1/4th cup of sugar and cream of tartar to the egg whites  and blend it till fluffy.
  3. Add the remaining 1/4th cup of sugar to the egg yolks and blend until  creamy.
  4. Fold in the egg white mixture to the egg yolk mixture.
  5. In this add the  butter and the cocoa powder. Mix well with a spatula.
  6. Gently fold 1/2 cup of flour till everything is well combined.
  7. The roll cake batter is ready.
  1. Take out the tray from freezer and pour this roll cake batter over the prepared hearts and dots and spread evenly.
  2. Meanwhile preheat the oven to 180 degrees C.Bake this for 7 minutes, since its a cake sheet it will bake fast.
  3. Take the tray out and put a parchment paper over the prepared cake sheet and another tray over and flip it.
  4. Peel off the parchment paper over the top and again flip it over to a towel or parchment paper and roll it carefully when its warm.Roll from the side of the cake where there is no design.
  5. After sometime open the roll cake and add some whipping cream or white frosting inside and spread evenly and add some strawberries and roll back again.

Thats It.....The chocolate roll cake with hearts and dots is ready!!!! :)
