Gul-e-firdaus / Khaddu ki Kheer

This is a simple and quick dessert to prepare. This is prepared by cooking bottle guard and tapioca balls along with sweetened milk and adding nuts. This is also called as Dil-e-firdaus. This dessert also acts as a coolant for the body. This kheer if served in small earthen ware bowls will be more delicious. My Husband, who usually doesn’t like khaddu, liked this dish :-)

Ingredients:

  1. Bottle guard- ½ kg
  2. Sago / Sabu dhaana / Tapioca balls- 50gms
  3. Khoya- 125gms
  4. Sugar- 150gms
  5. Milk- 1lt
  6. Cardamom powder- ½ tsp
  7. Almond- handful
Method:

  1. Heat ½ lt milk, add gourd and cook till tender.
  2. In another dish, cook sago in remaining milk till it becomes transparent.
  3. Add sugar and khoya to it and stir to dissolve sugar.
  4. Add bottle gourd mixture and cardamom powder.
  5. Serve it chilled or hot with garnished nuts.

I am sending this to Ally's event Delicious desserts and also to Any one can cook (FB, WLI, WLT).
